"Recently I negotiated the purchase of new arthroscopic equipment for my outpatient surgery center and found that, although the quality of systems was high, the equipment was also extremely expensive. There literally were no moderately priced systems available of any quality. In the current environment of ever-lower reimbursements for medical procedures, I began to wonder how surgery centers would be able to continue to afford the equipment in the future.
